We are looking for a 

Commercial Director

in permanent position. The commercial director will take responsibility for microDimensions’ business for curated histopathology data by realizing and optimizing business models, shaping the product, identifying clients, and creating and closing business opportunities. The commercial director will work closely together with the managing director of microDimensions.

The key objective of the Commercial Director is to transform microDimensions from a company selling software licenses for research products to a player in the dynamic and fast paced market for healthcare data.

Critical for success is to build and maintain sustainable relationships with key decision makers of the individual target customers to ensure profitable and long-term business opportunities across the target segments.

Key Responsibilities

  • To further develop our business model in the field of healthcare image data sales
  • To identify and develop sales opportunities and ensure successful closing of profitable deals
  • To direct the product and marketing team to grow the user base of our online platform in the digital pathology domain
  • To liaise closely with the CEO
  • To communicate the strategy to shareholders and assure transparency together with the CEO

Profile / Requirements

Professional Skills

  • Executive expertise: Experience as managing director / CEO / key executive
  • Sales expertise: Identify and close B2B sales opportunities
  • Business development expertise:
    • Develop business models and strategies
    • Identify, close and develop new (strategic) partnerships
    • Identify and close new business opportunities (projects)
  • Marketing/product expertise: Growing a social network’s or platform’s user base

Educational and Professional Background

  • 5+ years of business and management experience
  • Background in cloud commerce, social networks, big data, or in the healthcare domain
  • Large business network in the aforementioned industries

Personal Skills and Competencies

  • Languages:
    • English (required)
    • German (nice to have)
  • Strategic and entrepreneurial thinking
  • Resilience
  • Negotiation skills
